Alex is a black bone mouth Shar-pei who is very loving and loyal. Once he becomes a member of your family and becomes attached to you, he will be on alert for any danger towards you. He is dog friendly, doesn't seem to be interested in his foster families cat, in fact he won't even come near her!!
Bisket is a very special dog. He has the face of an angel and the heart of a lion! He was born blind, but he'd never let you think it bothers him! He is so sweet and just the most cuddly Shar-Pei you've ever met. We are still working on house training, but he has come a very long way in finding a way to communicate his needs to us.
I'm a 4yr old male, cream dilute brushcoat, and I weigh about 60lbs. When I came into rescue my eyes were in such bad shape I could hardly see at all. But thanks to the wonderful people at NASPR I had entropion surgery and now I can see just fine. I also had to undergo heartworm treatment but now I'm as good as new. I know basic commands like sit, stay, down, and will even shake hands.
If you've heard good things come in small packages, Button is here to prove that is true! Button is a 4 year old female Sharpei dynamo in a 30 lb. body! Surrendered by her owners who could no longer keep her, Button is in great health, spayed, and heartworm negative. She is a cream brushcoat sweetheart.
If you have ever owned and loved an alpha horsecoat female Shar-Pei, you will LOVE this girl. She will MELT your heart. She fits the mold for an alpha girl, so she would do best in a single dog home. She is VERY intelligent, and very obedient-- to those she respects. She is easily one of the cleanest dogs at our NASPR facility.
I am rather lazy but I love to go outside for walks. I am working on crate training but I promise I am house trained and I won’t chew on anything I’m not supposed to. I get along great with human strangers and eagerly welcome their pets and ear rubs. I do get along ok with others dogs if introduced properly but I do love to growl, just to be sure they know I am in charge.
My name is Deuce and I am a happy sweet _ 2 year old SharPei boy! I am looking for a new home. One filled with love and fun, with a person who has time to spend with me and knows that SharPei love their people. My first home just left me in the backyard all by myself!
I am an _ 3 year old neutered boy and I am the biggest love bug you will ever meet. I get along great with my foster siblings and am learning to play. I am learning to enjoy the comforts of plush doggie beds and endless doggie toys. I love to be outside but also want to know where my humans are at all times.
Victory and Garrett need a home where they can once again know the love they once did with their owner and although their mom did not understand what was happening to them, she too needs us to give her dogs a loving home. They were obviously well cared for and loved as they were neutered, heartworm negative and socialized.
She's VERY laid back, and would do well in a calm, laid back environment. She would be a great friend to nap with, or sit outside and look at the stars at night with, or to sit at your feet while you read a good book. Anyone looking for the calm, lovable, laid back, already trained dog? Then Grace is perfect for you--as long as you don't have cats.
Gracie's wish list includes: 1. A family to LOVE ME and care for me 2. Nice big fenced back yard with lots of shade 3. A really comfortable doggie bed of my own 4. Good quality food every day and doggie treats too 5. Please get me lots of toys to play with Gracie loves everyone, she's friendly and sweet, you will just love her!
Sadly, Gretchen was seized from her owner by animal control due to neglect.Gretchen is the sweetest Shar-Pei and is great with all people, dogs and children. She loves to play and would fit in most any household. Gretchen is a princess just waiting for her castle and a family who will shower her with all the love she deserves.
She LOVES to cuddle and craves human contact. She loves to play in water and would have a lot of fun romping around in a kiddie pool. She is very protective of her people when other dogs are around so we feel Iris would do best in a single dog home.
Madison came to us after being found stray and in animal control gentle and sad, with a cherry eye and a hurt leg; content to lay at your feet. But a few months of healing has done wonders. She’ll still lay at your feet, but if you let her run, she’ll run all day, and she wants to play, and play, and play some more. Madison is _ 3 years old and is wonderful with the toddlers in her foster home. She’d love to have a family of her own to play with.
Mandy is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms and her coat and skin are improving daily living in a clean environment and being fed daily healthy meals. She has never met a stranger and greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail. Mandy also gets along well with her fellow 4 legged rescue friends.
Mike is an _ 2 yr old cream horsecoat male. He is a young dog far wiser than his years. He has impeccable manners and the most soulful eyes. He is quiet, gentle and gets along well with other dogs but is also just as content to be one on one with our volunteers.
Although 9 years old, if you met Murray you would never think he was. He is one fit fellow. Everything is good in life according to Murray with the exception of cats. Other dogs, children, people no problem…but Murray has a very strict “No Cat” rule for his requirements when looking for his forever family.
I am a 6 month old male and very puppy. I am so cute that I am irresistible. I love everybody and get along famously with other dogs but I like to chase birds and squirrels. I'm sure I would like cats if they didn't run where I could chase them but I don't know for sure. I frown upon using the bathroom in the house, which in dog terms makes me housebroken. I am curious but timid at the same time; you will love me when I find things for you that you forgot all about.
I'm a petite chocolate SharPei princess! I love to be loved, to play, kids, and even other dogs! Somehow I lost my people, and was out in the freezing cold and rain. I'm just a little Shar-Pei girl! I got sick, and there was no one to take care of me. I was starving, too, there was no food anywhere. A nice lady found me laying in some bushes, trying to stay warm. She took me to the shelter where at least I wasn't cold and hungry anymore.
Stanley is a six year old fawn horsecoat male. He is laid back, affectionate and prefers a soft bed and to have his wrinkles rubbed. He just asks with his eyes….will you please take me home…..
Trinity is one of the dogs who was taken into NASPR’s care after being rescued from the horrible conditions of the kennel in Wichita Falls. ; Her life has changed drastically due to her friends at NASPR and the loving attention she has received from them along the way. It is a wonderful thing to see Trinity learning to enjoy being a house dog with all the comforts of having a true home.

Our Mission
The North American Shar Pei Rescue organization was established to assist and augment the rescue efforts of the Chinese Shar Pei Club of America Inc., as well as our Canadian neighbors to the North.
Our sole purpose is to provide services to any and all approved purebred Chinese Shar Pei Rescue groups in the United States and Canada. To this end we are providing a web domain which will be open to all rescue organizations as a way to network and advertise dogs they have for adoption. Some of the other services provided are:
• Providing counseling services to owners inquiring about re-homing their dogs.
• Temperament assessments of dogs for potential entry into rescue programs.
• Home checks and applicant screening.
• Follow up on rescue placements.
• Screening of applicants for Owner Surrender dogs that meet certain criteria.
• Assisting with coordination of transportation for rescue dogs.
While some services are limited at this time we anticipate being able to expand them with the adding of more volunteers.
Our organization consists of experienced Shar Pei owners, exhibitors and breeders who are located throughout the U.S. and Canada.
While NASPR has its own rescue program with its own policies and procedures we believe strongly that each organization is autonomous and should have its own structure and philosophy. As long as any rescue group adheres to the basic tenants of Rescue (defined as abandoned, abused, homeless or unwanted) they are free to utilize our web site and services. There is no charge for any assistance we provide.
NASPR is a non-profit Tennessee Corporation and also a Federal non profit Corporation . All our members are volunteers and no salaries or commissions are ever paid to our members. We operate solely on donations and sponsorships.
We firmly believe that by working together in a network system we can make a difference in achieving our common goals.
We hope you will find our web site informative and helpful to you whether you are in rescue, looking to adopt a rescue dog or just wanting to learn about the Chinese Shar Pei.
